Who We Are

The United Nations Association of San Diego (UNASD) serves as a resource for the citizens of the San Diego area on the broad agenda of critical global issues addressed by the United Nations and its agencies: peacekeeping, human rights, humanitarian relief, economic development, and education. The United Nations Association of San Diego is committed to educating the public about all the critical and essential work of the United Nations. With the help of our members and through public events, fundraisers, and symposiums, we can create a stronger understanding and build greater international cooperation.

The United Nations Association (UNA-USA) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded over a half-century ago by Eleanor Roosevelt and other concerned Americans to provide a sampling of what the United Nations and its component bodies have faced and still face around the globe to help those in need.

The San Diego Chapter is centrally located in beautiful Balboa Park adjacent to the international cottages. Since 1960, the UN Building has been the home for the Chapter’s Eleanor Roosevelt Global Classroom and the International Gift Shop.
