Climate Week San Diego, September 21-26, 2009, will bring together San Diego non-governmental, business, academic, local government leaders, and concerned citizens to participate in a series of symposia, workshops, panel discussions, film screenings, and cultural events designed to highlight the consequences of climate change for San Diegans and to underline the urgent need for action.
Taking place seventy days before the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, this week offers us the opportunity to underscore the urgency for a global climate change deal.
Climate Week San Diego is inspired by Climate Week°New York, which is sponsored by the United Nations, the City of New York, The Climate Group, and the United Nations Foundation. The event will coincide with a one-day summit on global climate change on September 22, a day before the opening of the general debate of the UN General Assembly.
