Dear All,
Hope you are having a great summer. I am writing to you as chair of the UNASD Outreach Committee. The Outreach Committee has only been in existence a few months and it is a work in progress. If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved with UNASD, here is your chance! Each and all of you can help shape this committee as a base to develop and promote new initiatives.
Please join us for our upcoming meeting:
August 18th (WED), 6:00 PM - at UNASD in Balboa Park
(we may move our gathering to one of the “international houses” )
Agenda:
(a) Discuss and refine plans for our upcoming Roundtable Sessions. We have tentative plans for sessions on human rights: one focused on China, one focused on gender issues, etc.
(b) Discuss idea of structuring Roundtable Sessions into regular monthly events with two parts: first hour devoted on discussion of current international issues (attendance open to anyone), then a quick break and meeting as Outreach Committee (mainly for committee members).
(c) Prepare a preliminary list of priorities for future initiatives – based on your ideas and suggestions.
Do not hesitate to contact me with any ideas/suggestions for us to consider that you may want to discuss individually if you are unable to attend the August 18th meeting.
Lastly, please take a few minutes to think of potential ideas that you would like to promote – perhaps a “pet project” that you personally wish to develop because it fits your own goals and might also advance the UNASD mission. The Outreach Committee can provide a support structure for these potential projects.
