UNA Youth Programs

The youth of today will be the world leaders of tomorrow. By joining the UNA-SD you will gain opportunities and connections to the professional and humanitarian international communities.

Young Professionals for International Cooperation

UNA-SD hosts the Young Professionals for International Cooperation (YPIC) in an effort to connect internationally focused students and young professionals with experienced professionals in academia, public health, development, non-profits, and international relations. For more information, please visit click on the Young Professional link above. Members receive discounts to all YPIC events.

Student Internship Program

Learn more about the United Nations and help the San Diego Chapter contribute to the local and international community. UNA-SD interns have creative flexibility to design, implement, and execute their own internationally-related projects. Interns may also teach 5th grade students about the United Nations in our Eleanor Roosevelt Global Classroom.

Volunteer Opportunities

We offer many opportunities to become an active member of our community and the world beyond.

Inspire

The UNA San Diego Chapter is one of the most active chapters in America. Our organization has collaborated with schools, universities, businesses and non-profits to educate and serve San Diego and communities abroad. We have successfully contributed computers to schools in Tanzania, implemented and hosted artistic, educational and cultural campaigns and even provided aid relief to the afflicted South East Asian community after the 2004 Tsunami.

Educate

The UNA-SD hosts a wide variety of events from community fundraisers to symposiums discussing world issues such as poverty, hunger, public health, and terrorism. We also teach over 3,000 San Diego County 5th graders about the United Nations every year, sponsor and guide San Diego high school Model United Nations clubs, and host the Sundays in the Park series, which focuses on a critical UN or humanitarian issue.

Participate

We encourage you to get involved by visiting one of our annual events or joining one of our committees. You can help with business development, event planning, fundraising, copy writing, graphic design, creative campaign development, public speaking and so much more. UNA-SD offers a vehicle to contribute to society, build relationships and show your appreciation for our global community by using your skill set, talents or resources towards special programs and project.
